Buckeyes Second After Day One of Northwestern Spring Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

GLENVIEW, Ill. – The Ohio State men’s golf team finished the first day of the Northwestern Spring Invitational Monday with a 3-under 573 on the par 72, 7,149-yard Glen Club to conclude the day second after 36 holes of play.
Host Northwestern leads the 14-team field with a 9-under 567 and Wildcat Jack Perry is atop the individual leaderboard with a 10-under 134.
Sophomore Boo Timko stands second with a 3-under 141, while teammates Grant Weaver and Max Rosenthal are third and tied for fourth, respectively. Timko finished the day with eight birdies, including five in round two. After a first-round score of 73, Weaver responded with a 3-under 69 for a 2-under 142 on the day. Rosenthal finished with an even 141, including a first-round best 71 for the Minnesota product.
Freshman Michael Bernard carded a 2-over 146, finishing tied for ninth. Classmate Tee-k Kelly had a 36-hole score of 6-over 150, placing him tied for 27th.
Competing as individuals, senior Matt Turner and redshirt Logan Jones finished the day with a 151 and 160, respectively.
The final round kicks off Tuesday with tee times beginning at 9 a.m. ET.
