Buckeyes Remain in Ninth Place at Big Ten Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

The Ohio State men’s golf team remains in ninth place after concluding round three of the 2012 Big Ten Championships Saturday in French Lick, Ind. The Buckeyes finished the day 16-over par on the par 72, 7,152-yard Pete Dye Golf Course. After shooting a 304 Saturday, the Scarlet and Gray will enter the final round of competition with a 55-over 919 total.
Ohio State will continue action Sunday in the final round scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. ET. Live scoring will once again be available at www.golfstat.com.
Freshman Grant Weaver leads all Buckeyes with a 9-over 225 to tie for 14th-place. Shooting a 3-over 75 in each of the first three rounds of play, Weaver has had a consistent performance thus far.
Carding a 15-over 231, freshman Boo Timko is currently tied for 31st, while senior Alex Redfield follows closely in a tie for 35th (16-over 232).
Rounding out the Buckeye attack is redshirt freshman Logan Jones and junior Matt Turner. Jones improved in the third round to finish the day tied for 46th with a 21-over 237 total. Turner is currently 23-over 239 to tie for 50th.
Illinois continues to lead the team competition with a 20-over 884 – seven strokes ahead of second-place Indiana and Michigan State. Illinois’ Luke Guthrie, the 2011 champion, remains on top the individual leader board with a 6-under 210.
