COLUMBUS, Ohio – Carding a final round of 301, the Ohio State men’s golf team concluded the 2012 Big Ten Championships in ninth with a total of 1,220 on the par 72, 7,152-yard Pete Dye Course in French Lick, Ind.
After 72 holes, Illinois sat atop the leaderboard at 1,175. The Fighting Illini were led by Luke Guthrie who took medalist honors with a 5-under total of 283.
Leading Ohio State was freshman Grant Weaver. The Wooster, Ohio, native tallied a final round mark of 77 to tie for 21st at 302.
Tying for 35th at 310 was the pair of freshman Boo Timko and redshirt freshman Logan Jones. Timko notched a score of 79, while Jones recorded a 73 that included four birdies.
With an even 72, Matt Turner concluded the tournament in 40th at 311. The junior from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, carded three birdies en route to par in round four.
One stroke back at 312 was senior Alex Redfield who fired a final round of 80 to tie for 42nd.
