Ohio State in 13th at Puerto Rico Classic – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team completed its first day of competition Sunday at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Grande, P.R. The Buckeyes are currently in 13-place after posting a 15-over 303 at the par 72, 6,902-yard River Course at the Rio Mar Country Club.
After 18-holes of play, senior Alex Redfield tallied a 2-over 74 and will begin the second round tomorrow tied for 36th-place. Freshmen Grant Weaver and Boo Timko finished the day each tied for 49th-place shooting a 4-over 76.
Senior Dan Charen and junior Matt Turner rounded out the Scarlet and Gray’s total with a 5-over 77 and 7-over 79, respectively. Charen is currently tied for 54th-place, while Turner is tied for 66th.
Alabama currently leads the competitive field of 15 after shooting an impressive 12-under 276 during the first day for action. Clemson is second with a 5-under 283, and top-ranked Texas finished even, tied for fourth. Individually, Alabama’s Justin Thomas leads with a 5-under 67.
