No. 18 Ohio State Reunites for OSU Tune-Up – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 18 Ohio State women’s track and field team will reunite Friday for the OSU Tune-Up before a hometown crowd after spending the last two weekends split between away meets. This will serve as the Buckeye’s final regular season meet before the Big Ten championships.
Ohio State opened the 2012 season in French Field House and they will close the regular season in front of a hometown crowd. Action for the Scarlet and Gray will start inside of French Field House at approximately 5 p.m. ET with the weight throw, pole vault and long jump. Running events begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET with the distance medley relay. A complete recap will be available after the meet at www.OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
Buckeyes in the USTFCCCA Rankings
In the Feb. 14 rankings by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), Ohio State remained ranked No. 18 in the nation. No. 16 Wisconsin and No. 23 Michigan State join the Buckeyes as the three Big Ten teams ranked n the Top 25.
Manning Named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week
All- American Christina Manning was named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week Feb. 13 by the conference office for the fifth time this season. Manning picked up the award after two second-place finishes at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational Feb. 10 where Ohio State faced its toughest competition to date.
The Waldorf, Md., native clocked an official time of 23.51 in the 200m dash to set a new personal record. That time also stands as the second-fastest time in Ohio State history and the seventh-best time in the nation. Manning crossed the line in 8.16 for second-place in the 60m hurdles in Albuquerque.
Nine Buckeyes in Individual Top 25 Rankings

- Christina Manning – No. 3 in the 60m hurdles, No. 15 in the 60m dash, No. 7 in the 200m dash
- Maggie Mullen – No. 8 in the weight throw
- Kelcey McKinney – No. 10 in the triple jump
- Alexis Thomas – No. 16 in the weight throw
- Tori Brink – No. 21 in the DMR
- Katie Betts – No. 21 in the DMR
- Jordan Jennewine – No.2 1 in the DMR
- Katie Borchers – No. 21 in the DMR
- Chesna Sykes – No. 24 in the 60m dash
Last Time Out
The team split for the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., and the Spire Invitational in Geneva, Ohio. Below are some of the highlights from the meets:
- At the Don Kirby Invite Christina Manning placed second in the 60m hurdles (8.16) and the 200m dash (23.51). Her 200m dash time was a PR, is the seventh-best time in the nation and the second-fastest time in school history.
- In the 400m dash, Shaniqua McGinnis used a season best time of 54.38 to finish second at the Don Kirby Invite.
- In Albuquerque, Ashley Galbraith picked up a silver medal in the high jump with a mark of 1.73m (5-8).
- With a personal-best mark of 20.78m (68-2.25) in the weight throw, Maggie Mullen took second in Albuquerque.
- Meredith Wagner ran a PR of 16:28.70 in the 5000m run to take third.
- Jordan Jennewine used a PR of 4:47.76 to finish eighth in the mile at the Spire Invitational. Her time is now the second-fastest time in school history.
