Indianapolis –
Former Buckeye Katie Bell will be representing the United States at the FINA Diving World Cup in London from February 20-26, where the U.S. will look to qualify for this summer’s Olympic Games.
Bell will be competing in the 10-meter platform event. The All-American from Columbus placed second in that event at the 2012 U.S. Winter Nationals.
Each country can earn up to 12 spots for the Olympics, with the U.S. already having earned six spots as a result of performances at last year’s World Championships. At the World Cup, the United States will aim to qualify for the Olympics in all four synchronized diving events and will look to secure an additional spot in the men’s 3-meter and women’s 10-meter individual events.
The U.S. roster for the World Cup is listed below. Keep in mind Olympic qualifying is for the country, not the athlete. The Olympic team will be named at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in June.
