Cheverton Winner At Missouri Grand Prix – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbia, Missouri – Samantha Cheverton of Team Canada was the winner in the women’s 200m freestyle (1:58.46), one of four Canadian winners Friday at the Missouri Grand Prix, one of a series of races for Olympic hopefuls.
Cheverton capped her Ohio State career last spring with a Big Ten individual title in the 200 freestyle and four All-America honors at the NCAA swimming and diving championships. She is the reigning Canadian national champion in the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle events.The two-time Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar and three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete received her bachelor’s degree in psychology.
The Missouri Grand Prix continues Saturday with prelims and finals of the men’s and women’s 200m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 400m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and 800m free relay. For more information and complete results, go to www.usaswimming.org/missourigrandprix.
