No. 14 Ohio State Heads to Kentucky for Rod McCravy Memorial – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 14 Ohio State women’s track and field team returns to the track in Lexington, Ky., Jan. 27-28 to compete in the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet.
The meet begins Friday at 6 p.m. ET with the weight throw, pole vault and long jump at the University of Kentucky’s Nutter Field House. Action resumes on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. ET with the triple jump and high jump, followed by events on the track. A Look Back at the Rod McCravy Memorial in 2011
Last season Ohio State entered the Rod McCravy Memorial Meet as the No. 24 ranked team in the country. While there, the team set several new PRs and top school marks.
Taking second in the mile, Jordan Jennewine set a PR in the mile in 4:49.60, the third-best indoor time in school history. Tying a PR was Christina Manning, who placed second in the 60m dash in 7.40m, the third-fastest time in school history. Letecia Wright won the 60m hurdles in 8.19 to tie her PR just ahead of Manning, who crossed the line for second in 8.20.
Ashley Galbraith led the way off the track with a win in the high jump. Galbraith cleared the bar at 1.79m, a PR and the sixth-best indoor mark in Ohio State history.
Ohio State in the USTFCCCA National Rankings
In the Jan. 24 rankings, Ohio State is No. 14 according to the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Scarlet and Gray and rival Michigan at No. 20 are the lone teams representing the Big Ten in the national rankings.
Manning Named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week
All-American Christina Manning was named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week Jan. 16 by the conference office after a stunning performance at “La Femme Dual” Jan. 14.
The senior from Waldorf, Md., placed first in three events, the 60m dash, 60 hurdles, and 200m dash to help OSU to an 81-81 tie with Michigan. All three times rank within the top 15 nationally.
Nine Members of the Scarlet and Gray in Individual Top 25 Rankings

- Christina Manning – No. 2 in the 60m hurdles, No. 8 in the 60m dash, No. 11 in the 200m dash
- Maggie Mullen – No. 6 in the weight throw
- Aisha Cavin – No. 15 in the 200m dash, No. 22 in the 4x400m relay
- Shaniqua McGinnis – No. 21 in the 400m dash, No. 22 in the 4x400m relay
- Ashley Galbraith – No. 22 in the high jump
- Christienne Linton – No. 22 in the 60m hurdles, No. 26 in the 60m dash
- Kachay Hullum – No. 22 in the 4x400m relay
- Nyjah Cousar – No. 22 in the 4x400m relay
- Alexis Thomas – No. 25 in the weight throw
Last Time Out
The Buckeyes tied No. 20 Michigan 81-81 in “La Femme Dual.” Below are some of the highlights from the meet:
- Manning pulled off a sweep in her three events, the 60m dash (7.36), 60m hurdles (8.12) and the 200m dash (24.24).
- Linton (7.46) and Chesna Sykes (7.54) followed Manning in the 60m dash to round out the top 3.
- The Buckeyes took the top 2 spots in the 400m run. McGinnis (55.63) won the race with Kachay Hullum (57.05) crossing the line in second.
- With a time of 1:33.84, Nyjah Cousar took second in the 600m run.
- Clearing the bar at 1.76m (5-9.25) for first in the high jump was Galbraith.
- Ohio State finished 2-3 in the long jump, with Pedro taking second (5.93m/19-5.50) and Linton placing third (5.85m/19-2.50).
- In another 2-3 finish, Kelcey McKinney (12.29m/40-4) took second and Rachael Mack (11.92m/39-1.25) third in the triple jump.
- Mullen took first in the weight throw with a PR mark of 20.55m (67-5.25). Following Mullen was Thomas, who threw for second place with a mark of 18.83m (61-9.5)
- Norianna Brown used a mark of 14.49m (47-6.5) to claim a runner-up finish in the shot put.
- Ohio State won the ‘A’ team 4x400m relay in 3:44.28.
