Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State softball team faced its first outside competition of the fall season in an exhibition with Ohio Dominican at Buckeye Field Wednesday night.

Freshman Olivia O’Reilly pitched two scoreless innings with two strike outs. Alex DiDomenico finished off the evening with a scoreless inning.
At the plate, sophomore Evelyn Carrillo was sensational, with a second-inning grand slam to center field and a three-run homer to right field in the sixth inning. A three-run shot by freshman Anne McGowan in the second and a two-run homer to left by Alicia Herron were the other big offensive strikes of the evening.
Other extra-base hits by the Buckeyes were a Melissa Rennie triple down the left-field line in the fifth inning, a pair of doubles by freshman Taylor Watkins, and doubles by Megan Coletta (in the third inning), Shelby Pickett (in the fourth inning) and Caitlin Conrad (in the sixth). Danielle LeBeau was three-for-three at the plate.
