Ohio State Picks Up Easy Victory in Season Opener – Ohio State Buckeyes

BOONE, N.C. – The Ohio State men’s cross country team placed six athletes in the top 10 on its way to an easy victory at the 6.4k Mountaineer Open Friday.
Ohio State’s 21 point team score gave the Buckeyes a dominant 43-point margin of victory over runner-up and host Appalachian State (64 points). Queens took third place with 100 points, followed by Northern Kentucky (106), East Tennessee State (118), Western Carolina (138) and UNC-Asheville (186).
Jake Edwards (19:28.1) and Donny Roys (19:35.3) led the way for the Scarlet and Gray, finishing 1-2. Third place went to Appalachian State’s Alex Taylor (19:38.2), followed by Buckeyes Michael Brajdic (19:39.8) and Taylor Williams (19:44.1).
Julian Meyer closed the scoring for Ohio State, finishing ninth in 19:54.3. Chris Fallon made it six Buckeyes in the top 10 with a 10th-place time of 19:55.9.
