Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving program will host nine events during the 2011-12 season, including a pair of invitational meets in December and February at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Among the most rapidly improving programs in the nation, the Buckeyes finished an impressive third at the Big Ten championships and 17th at the NCAA championships, and are looking to continue to add to those exciting performances in the season ahead.
“We are coming off of a terrific 2011 short course and long course season,” fourth-year OSU coach Bill Dorenkott says about his program’s upcoming challenges. “The schedule we have put together was designed to continue our program’s momentum into 2012.”
“This is a big year for the Buckeyes in the pool and on the boards. Ultimately, we want to shine at our biggest competitions of the year: the Olympic Games, Olympic Trials, NCAAs and Big Tens.
“Stef (Williams, associate head coach) and I like the meet schedule leading into the championship segment of our season. We believe the schedule will provide a direct measure of the Buckeyes being on task.”
