COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team kicked off the fall season Monday and are tied for third after the first two rounds of the 42nd-annual Marshall Invitational in Huntington, W.Va. The Buckeyes carded an 8-under 560 on the par 71, 6,534-yard course at Guyan Country Club.
A trio of Buckeyes finished the day in a tie for 11th with a 3-under 139. Senior Alex Redfield opened with a 2-under 69 in round one and followed with a 1-under 70, while junior Jamie Sindelar shot the reverse (70, 69). After carded an even-par 71 in the morning, freshman Boo Timko carded a team-low, 3-under 68 in the afternoon.
Junior Matt Turner, playing as an individual, concluded the day tied for 20th with a 1-under 141 (71-70). Redshirt freshman Logan Jones finished with a 3-over 145 (69-76) and senior Dan Charen shot a 5-over 147 (73-74).
The final round continues Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the Guyan Country Club.
