Buckeyes Ranked 21st in AVCA Preseason Poll – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – In the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 preseason poll released Monday, Ohio State is ranked 21st receiving 256 points. The Buckeyes are one of seven Big Ten schools ranked in the Top 25. Ohio State ended the 2010 season ranked 19th in the final poll after advancing to the NCAA Dayton regional semifinal. OSU defeated 13th-ranked Dayton, on its home court, to reach the regional.
BUCKEYES HOST SCARLET & GRAY MATCH, SUNDAY, AUG. 21, 1 P.M.
The women’s volleyball team will play an intersquad match at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21 in St. John Arena. Admission is free. The Scarlet & Gray match is the final warm-up before the season begins later in the week.
OSU OPENS 2011 SEASON WITH VALPARAISO
The Buckeyes will open the 2011 season at the West Virginia Mountaineer Invitational at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 25 against Valparaiso in Morgantown. The Buckeyes continue on the road with tournaments at Hawaii and Toledo before returning home to host the Sports Imports Classic, Sept. 16-17.
