CSCAA Scholar All-Americans – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Both the Ohio State women’s and men’s swimming and diving programs have earned top recognition from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) in its 2011 Scholar All-American program.
The Buckeye women’s team, with a 3.33 GPA, and the men’s squad, with a 3.10 GPA, were each recognized as Team Scholar All-American winners for Division I.
From Coach Bill Dorenkott’s women’s team, five Buckeyes were recognized as Scholar All-Americans: Samantha Cheverton, Emily Creran, Megan Detro, Alex Norris and Angela Severn. Six others – Jackie Brousseau, Beth Defauw, Shannon Draves, Kristyn Fulcher, Kelsey Moran and Lisa Narum – received honorable mention awards.
Andrew Elliott, Justin Farra, Zachary Holmes, Elliott Keefer, Tim Phillips and Markus Sievers were the individual Scholar All-Americans from Coach Bill Wadley’s men’s squad. Three other Buckeyes – Alex Miller, Austin Mudd and Luke Stirton – earned honorable mention recognition.
The CSCAA Team Scholar All-American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams that have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Scholar All-American award is presented to college and university swimmers and divers who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, for the semester or cumulative average, and have qualified for their respective national championship.
The Honorable Mention Scholar All-American award is presented to college and university swimmers and divers who have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or higher, for the semester or cumulative average, and have achieved a “B” time standard, but have not qualified to compete in their respective national championship.
