Cheverton 18th in 200 Free – Ohio State Buckeyes

Participating for Team Canada, former Buckeye Samantha Cheverton just missed advancing to the semifinals of the 200 freestyle Tuesday, placing 18th in the preliminary heats at the FINA world championships in Shanghai, China. Her time was 1:58.98.
On Sunday, Cheverton placed 16th in the preliminary heats of the 400 yard freestyle event. Her time was 4:09.81.
Cheverton has one more opportunity for competition at the world championships; Thursday, she will swim as a member of Canada’s 4×200 freestyle relay team.
