Friday Prellims At OSU Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – Ohio State placed 38 swimmers in tonight’s finals during the first session of competition at the OSU Invitational being held at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. The Buckeye men are competing against Michigan State, Penn State and Purdue, while the women are facing Michigan State, Notre Dame, Penn State and Purdue.
In the 500 freestyle, Kelly Ann Baird, Alex Norris, Natalie Nichols and Kristyn Fulcher finished among the top eight, while in the men’s 500 free, Alex Miller, Brent Hitchcock, Rowan Willliams, Luke Stirton and Zach Holmes posted the five fastest times in the preliminary heats.
In the 200 IM, Angela Severn, Emily Creran and Ashley Vance will swim in the women’s finals, while Markus Sievers, Keanu Stevenson, Steven Zimmerman and Garrett Trebilcock are in the men’s 200 IM championship finals.
In the 50 freestyle, Megan Detro and Michelle Williams advanced to the championship finals for women, while Jason Schnur, Zach Birnbrich, Lincoln Fahrbach and Andrew Elliott are in the men’s finals.
Finals begin at 6 p.m. this evening, along with the one-meter diving finals for men and women. Saturday’s preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. Admission is free.
