OSU Named to the NCAA Tournament Field – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State (19-14 overall) women’s volleyball team, for the third consecutive season, has received an at-large bid to the NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship and begins play at 4:30 p.m. EST Thursday against Middle Tennessee State (21-11) at the Thompson-Boling Arena on the campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. At 7 p.m. EST, 14th-seeded Tennessee (27-3) will host Duke (21-8) in the second first round match. The first round winners return at 7 p.m. Friday in a second round match playing for a spot in the Florida regional in Gainesville, Dec. 9-10.
Ohio State finished seventh in the Big Ten Conference with an 9-11 record. The Buckeyes are 1-0 against Middle Tennessee State, 7-0 against Tennessee and has not played Duke.
Last season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, the Buckeyes defeated Lipscomb 3-1 in Dayton, Ohio. In the second round, Ohio State upset 12th-seeded Dayton, 3-2. OSU advanced to the Dayton regional, losing 3-1 at second ranked Stanford.
A package including admission to both sessions (all three matches) can be purchased at a discounted price of $10 general admission for adults, $6 for students/seniors and $4 for children 12 and under.
Day-of, single-session ticket sales are $6 general admission for adults, $5 for students/seniors and $4 for children 12 and under.
