COLUMBUS, Ohio –With the 2011-12 campaign off to a strong start, senior Andrew Elliott and sophomore Kelly Ann Baird spent some time with OhioStateBuckeyes.com following a quad meet last Friday to discuss the progress of both the men’s and women’s swimming programs so far this season.
Elliott had an impressive performance in the Buckeye win over Virginia Tech, Cleveland State and Denison last week, notching individual wins in the 100 and 200 backstroke as well as a win with the 200 medley relay.
On the women’s side, the Scarlet and Gray also came out on top, while individually Baird continued to show substantial progress early in the season, recording wins in both the 500 and 1000 freestyle.
Up next for the Buckeyes, the men will be on the road tonight traveling to Miami University for a dual meet starting at 5 p.m., while the women will play host to Ohio University at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion Saturday at 1 p.m.
