The nine members of the 2010-11 Ohio State women’s tennis team, along with head coach Chuck Merzbacher, assistant coach Sadhaf Pervez-Fath, volunteer assistant coach Phil Zunshine and team manager Carrie Smith participated in a “friendraising” event Sunday afternoon at The Country Club at Muirfield Village in Dublin.
The Buckeyes, participating for the fourth-consecutive year, showed the fans from the country club what it was like to practice like a member of the Ohio State women’s tennis team. Coach Merzbacher and his team showed the fans various drills that could be used with three players on the court.
Afterward, everyone was able to play across the net from members of the Buckeye squad. The event helped bring awareness to the women’s tennis program and also introduced the newest members of the squad to some of the team’s most loyal fans.
