COLUMBUS, Ohio – With winds gusting up to 35 miles per hour, the Ohio State men’s golf team continued action Saturday at the Big Ten Championships and finished the third round with a score of 308 (+24) on the par 71, 7,152-yard Windsong Farm Club in Maple Plain, Minn. After an impressive first day that brought a pair of sub-70 rounds, junior Bo Hoag had a tougher time in round three with a score of 5-over 76. Beginning the day off the 10th tee, he played steady golf throughout as he posted seven pars to just two bogeys in his first nine holes. The Upper Arlington, Ohio, native then had a rough stretch between Nos. 2-7 with three bogeys and a double-bogey in that span between birdies on holes 1 and 8.
Hoag, an Honorable Mention All-American, heads into the final round in sixth place with a score of 214, only two strokes back from a pair tied for third and four shots away from the top of the leaderboard.
Freshman Matt Turner carded the best Buckeye round of the day with a 75 to finish in a tie for 26th place with a total of 224. He started the day on shaky ground, tallying a bogey and a double-bogey on two of his first three holes.
