Hard to believe, but track season is right around the corner. And probably no other Buckeye is eager for this season to begin more than Jordan Jennewine.
The redshirt junior from Dayton, Ohio was forced to miss all of last season and the 2010 cross country season after undergoing knee surgery. And after a year of rigorous rehab and training, she is champing at the bit to get back out there and compete.
“Jordan has done a great job during her rehab,” distance coach Chris Neal said. “The past three months she has slowly been increasing her mileage and is now back to looking like the old Jordan. We are excited to have her back for indoor and outdoor track season and it will be great having her back as a fifth year senior next season.”
In 2009, Jennewine was a member of the indoor distance medley team that broke the school record (11:32.71). During the outdoor campaign she advanced to the NCAA Mideast Regionals in the 1500 and helped the cross country team to its first-ever appearance at the NCAA championships while earning all-Big Ten honors in the process.
Jennewine and the Buckeyes begin the 2011 season Friday, Jan. 7 with the Buckeye Classic at French Fieldhouse before taking on Michigan in “The Dual” Saturday, Jan. 15 in Ann Arbor.
