COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s swimming team and Head Coach Bill Dorenkott are welcoming fans to join the newly formed Women’s Swimming Friends and Family Program.
“We are truly blessed at Ohio State to have the resources to create academic and athletic opportunities for our student-athletes that are second to none,” said Dorenkott. “Our daily goal is to build on the Buckeye Women’s Swimming & Diving tradition. One way we can accomplish our goals is by gaining an edge on our competition. Support of the program provides us a meaningful advantage.”
The Friends and Family Program is the official fundraising and support group for Ohio State women’s swimming. In addition to the personal rewards associated with providing opportunities for Buckeye student-athletes, the Friends and Family Program provides benefits for its members. Friends and Family Program members will receive invitations to exclusive women’s swimming events, a quarterly e-newsletter, and e-mail updates from the coaching staff throughout the season.
“Our goal in starting the Friends and Family Program is to give our young women a competitive edge in and out of the pool,” Dorenkott said. “Contributions will allow us to create opportunities in nutrition, sports psychology, video, travel as well as strength & conditioning, to name just a few areas of competitive focus.”
