Buckeyes Wrap Up Competition at Eck Tennis Classic – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeyes wrapped up play at the Eck Tennis Classic hosted by Notre Dame Sunday afternoon.
Gabby Steele was bounced from the blue main singles flight after falling in the semifinals to eventual flight champion Kristen Rafael of Notre Dame, 6-2, 6-3.
Both Buckeye doubles team were knocked out of competition in the second round Saturday. The duo of Steele and Malley were downed by Notre Dame’s Manningham and Rafael, 8-4, in the Gold bracket while Dittmer and Becker dropped their match against Dracheva and Thome of Miami, 8-3, in the Green flight.
The Buckeyes finished the event with 13 singles victories and a pair of doubles wins.
Next up for Ohio State is the ITA Midwest Regional in Ann Arbor, Mich., Oct. 21-26.
