Escobedo Ends Run at ITA/USTA Midwest Regional – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Paloma Escobedo, a senior on the Ohio State women’s tennis team, was eliminated from the main draw singles bracket of the ITA/USTA Midwest Regional Championships Monday in Ann Arbor, Mich. Escobedo lost to top-seeded and eighth-ranked Kristy Frilling of Notre Dame, 6-2, 6-3, in the quarterfinals. After a first-round bye, Escobedo posted two wins in the 48-player bracket.
At the event last year, former Buckeye Kirsten Flower met the same fate, falling to Frilling in the quarterfinals.
The Buckeyes will be back on the courts Nov. 5-7 at the Arizona State Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.
