SWM&DIV: Buckeyes Back from WCT Trials – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three Ohio State swimmers who competed at the 2009 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships and World Championship Trials last week in Indianapolis are back on campus after solid performances at the national meet.
- Senior Megan Alexander, from Worthington, Ohio, swam a personal best time of 1:12.41 in the 100-meter breaststroke while finishing 34th overall. She also was 44th in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:40.84.
- Senior Jill Lockhart, from Muncie, Ind., was right at her career best with a 36th-place finish in the 200 backstroke in 2:17.57. She established a new personal best in the 400 individual medley in 4:56.23, good for 46th place.
- Katelyn Brix, a junior from Brentwood, Calif., was 30th in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:35.43.
Junior Samantha Cheverton, from Lachine, Quebec, also performed well, only she was at the Canadian World Championship Trials held July 8-11 in Montreal. She made the finals in three events – 200 freestyle (5th in 2:00.55), 200 backstroke (5th; 2:14.38) and 100 butterfly (7th; 1:00.73).
