COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State’s women’s swimming and diving team excelled in the classroom once again and finished the winter quarter strong, having 15 members named to the Big Ten Conference Winter Academic All-Conference team.
“I have shared with anyone who will listen how proud I am of our team’s efforts in the classroom,” Bill Dorenkott, head women’s swimming coach, said. “There is no disputing that this program is full of dynamic young ladies who are committed to excellence in academics.
“Our expectations are high in both the classroom and the pool. It takes a special individual to embrace and realize their potential as both as a student and as an athlete.”
Overall, the team boasted a 3.32 grade-point average (GPA) for the winter quarter and it now has a cumulative 3.35 average for the school year. Those honored by the Big Ten featured all three seniors, seven juniors and five sophomores.
