Bianca Alvarez Wins 3-Meter at Duke Invite – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Sophomore Bianca Alvarez won the three-meter diving competition at the three-team Duke Diving Invitational today in Durham, N.C. She posted a winning score of 326.98 points.
Coach Vince Panzano took his men’s and women’s divers south for the past week to train while their home facility – the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion – was hosting more than 1,300 junior national team members. The training culminated in the competition today.
Senior Chelsea Davis was third on the three-meter with 310.45 points
On the men’s side, Wes Wieser and Ryan Jefferson were second and third, respectively, on the one-meter springboard with 352.78 and 334.76 points, respectively.
The Buckeye women’s divers will next compete Jan. 9 at Toledo. Both men’s and women’s teams will compete Jan. 10 at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion against Wright State in a competition that will begin at 1 p.m.
