Flower Still Alive in ITA Midwest Regionals – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Kirsten Flower, a senior on the Ohio State women’s tennis team, remained alive in the ITA Midwest Regionals singles bracket with a three-set win in the third round. Flower will compete in the quarterfinals against No. 2 seed Kristy Frilling of Notre Dame at 1 p.m. ET Monday, with the semifinals to follow at 4 p.m. ET for the four remaining players. The final will be held at 11 a.m. ET Tuesday. The tournament is hosted by Northwestern and held in Evanston, Ill.
Flower posted a 6-0, 1-6, 6-0 win over Kate Turvy of Northwestern in the third round. Fellow senior Christina Keesey was eliminated by Michigan’s Denise Muresan, a No. 9-16 seed, in the third round, 6-2, 6-2.
Notre Dame’s Frilling and Kali Krisik, the draw’s No. 1 seed, downed the Buckeye duo of Cami Hubbs and Kelsey Haviland in the quarterfinals, 8-0.
