Women’s Tennis: Ohio State Concludes Play at the William & Mary Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

Haviland narrowly falls in Flight B final of her first collegiate tournament
COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State women’s tennis team wrapped up the third and final day of competition at the William & Mary Invitational in Williamsburg, Va.
Freshman Kelsey Haviland battled hard into three sets in the Flight B singles final but lost to Stephanie Danesis of Miami (Ohio), 3-6, 6-4, 7-5. Haviland went 2-1 on the weekend in singles, best of any Buckeye.
Julie Voss faced Maria Prishlyak of Penn State in the third place match of Flight C singles and won, 6-3, 6-3.
Julie Blackmore played in the fourth place match in Flight B singles, but fell 6-3, 6-3, to Anouk Tiga of Arkansas. Angela DiPastina won her Sunday morning match, 6-4, 7-5 over Paige Kensrue of Elon.
Cami Hubbs picked up her first victory of the tournament Sunday with a 0-6, 6-4, 10-5 win over Elizaveta Zaytseva of Winthrop.
DiPastina and Keesey came up short in the doubles Flight B consolation final, 8-5, to Mejia and Osbourne of Miami (Fla.).
Julie Voss and Haviland took on Kensrue and Kloppers of Elon in the fifth place match of doubles Flight B and won, 8-6.
The Buckeyes now return to Columbus in anticipation of the Indiana Fall Invitational Oct. 3-5.
