Women’s Lacrosse Season Ends – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio Fourth-seededOhioState lost to PennState 13-5 Friday afternoon in the opening round of the American Lacrosse Conference tournament at Northwestern. Falling behind 7-1 in the first half, the Buckeyes conclude the 2008 season with a 10-8 record (1-4 in ALC).
Kristen Slahor fell short in her bid to set an NCAA single-season assist record; she finishes with 61 for the season, five short of the record of 66. Slahor had one assist against PennState.
Amanda Shimp led the scoring for the Buckeyes with two goals; Jessica Patane, Kelly Haggerty and Rachel Hawes also scored goals for OSU. In goal, junior Kristen Gilwee recorded 10 saves.
