Women’s T&F: Ohio State Puts Best Foot Forward on National Stage – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State women’s track and field showed its best on the first day of the New Balance Collegiate Invitational, Friday in New York City.
Junior Ayrizanna Favours qualified for the 400-meter final on Saturday with a eighth-place finish in the preliminaries in a time of 54.85. Favours also took 16th in the 60-meter dash against one of the toughest fields prior to the NCAA championships. Favours finished in a time of 7.61.
Senior Chandra Krempel grabbed second-place in the 500-meter dash with a time of 1:13.55 and sophomore Ashley Caldwell took eighth in a time of 1:15.15. In the field, senior Veronica Jatsek took eighth in the shot put with a toss of 48 feet, 7 1/4 inches.
Competition resumes tomorrow at the New Balance College Invite with the women’s 5,000-meter run at 9 a.m.
