Columbus, Ohio The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team closes out the regular season portion of its schedule at 5 p.m. Friday against Michigan at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Home Finale for Lund-Kristiansen and Rennebohm
The meet will represent the final home dual meet for Ohio State’s two senior captains: Linda Lund-Kristiansen and Annie Rennebohm. Lund-Kristiansen, from Roennede, Denmark, is a three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree majoring in nutrition. Rennebohm, also a three-time OSU Scholar-Athlete and a two-time Academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree, is from Worthington, Ohio and majors in English.
Linda Lund-Kristiansen highlights…
- Has three individual wins this season two in the 100-yard freestyle and one in the 50 free;
- Also has swam on four winning relay teams;
- She is the team’s second-fastest swimmer in both the 50 and 100 freestyle events this season;
- Has set a new career-best of 52:03 in the 100 freestyle this season;
- Swam the breaststroke leg of the school’s record-setting 200 medley relay team in 2007;
- Has won 13 individual races throughout her career and has been a member of 19 winning relay teams; and
- She is the daughter of Niels and Ulla Lund.
Annie Rennebohm highlights…
- Has the team’s third- and fourth-fastest times this season in the 50 and 100 freestyles, respectively;
- Has swam on seven victorious relay squads so far this season;
- Is a member of two school record-setting relay squads: the 200 freestyle relay team and the 800 freestyle relay team;
- Was a member of three relay teams that set school records at the 2006 Big Ten championships;
- Was honored as the team’s Most Inspirational teammate last year;
- Has also been honored with the team’s Academic Excellence Award and the Jim and Bev Montrella Award for having the highest GPA; and
- She is the daughter of Rob and Carol Rennebohm.
Live Results and Meet Scoring

The 16-event format 151 points needed to win will be used in the meet. Scoring will be 9-4-3-2-1 for first through fifth places, respectively, in individual events and 11-4-2 for first, second and third, respectively, in relays.
Ohio State’s Winning Streak Snapped
The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team fell to Big Ten opponent Northwestern, 167-133, last Saturday at the Norris Aquatic Center in Evanston, Ill. The loss snapped the Buckeyes’ dual meet winning streak at five consecutive and drops the team’s record to 6-4 overall and 1-1 in the Big Ten Conference.
The Scarlet and Gray swimmers came away with three first-place and eight second-place finishes, while the divers swept the top two places in the one- and three-meter events.
- Linda Lund-Kristiansen touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.16.
- Sophomore Megan Alexander took the top spot in the 200 breaststroke in 2:20.37.
- Jill Lockhart finished first in the 400 individual medley in a season-best tie of 4:23.69.
Davis earns Big Ten Diver of the Week Honors
Chelsea Davis was named Big Ten Diver of the Week for her performance in the Buckeye’s meet against Northwestern. She captured both the one- and three-meter events with NCAA Zone qualifying scores of 318.53 and 327.45, respectively. Her score in the one-meter set a new pool record at the Norris Aquatic Center. This is the junior’s second weekly award from the Big Ten and third of her career.
Divers Unbeaten in Duals
Ohio State divers, under the direction of coach Vince Panzano, have not only won seven Big Ten weekly awards this season, but they are also unbeaten in dual meets as the women’s team has gone 8-0 and the men’s team has gone 6-0 for a combined 28-0 individual record on the one- and three-meter boards.

Wolverine Swimming and Diving
Head Coach Jim Richardson’s nationally-ranked Michigan squad is currently 3-0 in Big Ten dual meet action and 5-1 overall. The No. 12 Wolverines boast a solid group of 10 seniors, five juniors, 13 sophomores and six freshman. Michigan is led by a handful of swimmers who have earned both NCAA “A” and “B” cut times. Sophomore Margaret Kelly leads the pack with two “A” cut times in the 100 butterfly and the 200 individual medley and holds “B” times in the 50, 100 and 500 freestyles, 100 backstroke, 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley. Senior Justine Mueller has recorded three “A” times, while junior Emily Brunemann has two.
The Wolverines are coming off a weekend sweep after recording wins over Big Ten opponents Michigan State and Northwestern. Senior diver Elyse Lee won the one- and three-meter events in both meets to lead Michigan. In the 160-74 win over MSU, Brunemann earned three “B” cut times, while Kelly finished with two. The Wolverines celebrated Senior Day with a 152-134 win over Northwestern on Saturday.
Cheverton Hits NCAA “A” Standard
Samantha Cheverton has qualified for the NCAA championships with an “A” qualifying time of 1:56.35 in the 200 backstroke. She made this time during the Bell Grand Prix in Toronto, Ontario in November. Cheverton also has made NCAA “B” cut times in the 500-yard freestyle, 200 freestyle, 1000 freestyle and in the 200 butterfly.
Three More Qualify With NCAA “B” Times
Freshman Katelyn Brix has qualified for NCAAs in the 400 individual medley and the 1,650 freestyle, while classmate Anita Beck has a “B” cut time in the 500 freestyle. Also owning a NCAA “B” cut time is sophomore Colleen Schweitzer, who earned it in the 200 breaststroke.
Head Coach Jeanne Fleck
Head women’s swimming coach Jeanne Fleck is in her ninth year as head coach of Buckeyes. In her eight years at Ohio State, she has worked to improve the team and gain recognition on the conference and national levels. Last season’s campaign saw the Buckeyes finish 6-3 overall and take eighth in the Big Ten Championships, sending two swimmers to the 2007 NCAA Championships. During her tenure at Ohio State she has geared the Buckeyes to 12 school records. She has also had 53 Academic All-Big Ten selections and 98 OSU Scholar-Athletes.
Diving Coach Vince Panzano
Vince Panzano is coach of the Ohio State men’s and women’s diving teams. Panzano, who was named the 2004 Big Ten Women’s Diving Coach of the Year and has a total of nine Big Ten Coach of the Year honors (three for the women and six for the men), has produced one world champion, one junior world champion, two Olympic medalists, 22 U.S. Diving champions, ten NCAA champions, 14 NCAA runners-up, 48 Big Ten champions and 69 NCAA All-Americans.
