Women’s Tennis: Hubbs Wins Flight C Title as Baylor Invitational Concludes – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio Ohio State women’s tennis freshman Cami Hubbs beat teammate Julie Voss in the Flight C championship match on the final day of the Baylor Invitational in Waco, Texas.
Hubbs, from Omaha, Neb., downed Voss, a junior from San Angelo, Texas, in three sets. After dropping the first set, 6-2, Hubbs posted back-to-back 7-5 wins to claim a title in her first collegiate tournament.
Sophomore and Northfield, Minn., native Christina Keesey fell to Madura Ranganathan of North Texas in the Flight Flight A consolation final. In the doubles Flight B main draw final, Keesey and teammate Julie Blackmore, a junior from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., were defeated by the Oklahoma State duo of Joanne Karaitiana/Irvna Tkachenko, 8-4.

The Buckeyes will return to action in the Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., Oct. 5-7.
