– Ohio State is now 100-10 in non-conference home games under 11th-year head coach Linda Kalafatis.
– Ohio State pounded out 17 hits in game two Wednesday, its most since collecting 19 hits in a 14-4 win over North Carolina A&T on March 12, 2004 at the Furman Invitational.
– Ohio State’s 13 run margin of victory in game two Wednesday is its largest since March 16, 2003, when the Buckeyes beat Morehead State, 14-0.
– The Buckeyes are now 19-4 when they outhit their opponent and score first.
– Buckeyes at the plate: Senior Nycole Koyano scored three runs in game two Wednesday, tying her career high and moving her into second place all-time at Ohio State in runs scored with 144. She surpassed Jennifer Link, who scored 141 runs from 2000-03. Anna Smith owns the runs record with 166 from 1999-2002.
– Senior Christina Douglas went 1-for-2 to extend her current hitting streak to a career best eight games.
– Freshman Sam Marder went 2-for-2 to extend her career best hitting streak to seven games.
– Buckeyes in the circle: In addition to Juarez’s other career pitching milestones (see above), she threw her 60th career complete game Wednesday, tying her for fourth all-time at Ohio State with Belinda Cernava Quisenberry (1990-93) … Juarez now owns 638 strikeouts, which rank second all-time at Ohio State and are 54 shy of the 692 Katie Chain collected from 2000-03. – Weather: Sunny and 54 degrees at first pitch. Wind 5-15 MPH in from left-centerfield.
– The Buckeyes are now 5-1 all-time record against IUPUI.
– IUPUI has nine letterwinners, including five starters, back from its 2006 team that went 13-37 and finished sixth in the Mid-Continent Conference at 8-15.
