Ohio State Women’s Track and Field Update: Buckeyes Open Competition at 2007 Sea Ray Relays – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s track and field team started action Friday at the 2007 Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn. Events continue tonight with the 10,000-meter run scheduled at 8:45 p.m. EDT.
In field events, Veronica Jatsek opened Ohio State’s day of competition with a third-place effort in the hammer. Jatsek, an indoor All-American in the weight, reached 190 feet, 8 inches to lock up third position. Senior Jessica Stringer, a three-time Big Ten high jump champion, tied for 10th in the event at a height of 5-5. Freshman Ashley Bowden scored a tie for eighth place in the pole vault at a career-best 11-5 3/4.
