COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s swimming and diving team competed on the first day of the 2007 Women’s Swimming and Diving NCAA Championships in Minneapolis, Minn.
Griet Buelens (Jr., Kapelle, Belgium/Ursulinen Mechelen) opened the meet in the 500-yard freestyle. Buelens hit the wall in a time of 4:55.27 to finish 60th in the mid-distance event. Julie Broms (Sr., Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) competed on the 1-meter board. She earned a score of 263.20 for 33rd place.
The meet continues Friday, with Buelens competing in the 200-yard freestyle, while Broms will compete on the 3-meter board. Gulsah Gunenc (Sr., Edirne, Turkey, Edirne Anatolian) will join the women, swimming the 100-yard butterfly.
