WTEN: Buckeyes Continue Play at Virginia Tech Fall Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State women’s tennis team wrapped up day two at the Virginia Tech Fall Invitational in Blacksburg, Va., Saturday. Action continues Sunday beginning at 8 a.m.
Junior Julie Blackmore, from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and freshman Cami Hubbs, a native of Omaha, Neb., will meet in the final of Flight C. Hubbs now has reached the final in each of her first two collegiate tournaments. Blackmore won her semifinal match against Elena Volobueva of East Tennessee State in three sets (6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-2, while Hubbs downed Virginia Tech’s J.J. Larson in straight sets (6-1, 6-2).
Sophomore Christina Keesey, from Northfield, Minn., will play in the Flight A final after downing Inga Beermann of Virginia Tech, 6-1, 6-4, in the semis.
Junior Angela DiPastina, from Titusville, N.J., reached the Flight B final after beating Davidson’s Alison Rauh in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles action, Blackmore and freshman Paloma Escobedo, from Houston, Texas, downed Aditi Krishnan and Joanna Woo of Eastern Michigan, 8-5, to advance to the Flight B final.
