Day Two Wraps for Women’s Tennis at ITA Regional – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State women’s tennis team wrapped up the second day of competition at the ITA Midwest Regional Championships in Ann Arbor, Mich. Play continues Saturday with main draw singles and doubles.
The day began with a qualifying win by Buckeye freshman Cami Hubbs to advance to the main draw field of 64. The win pushed Hubbs’ fall total to a team-high 10 wins.
Doubles action was highlighted by the tandem of Angela DiPastina and Christina Keesey, who won their first two matches to advance to the round of 16 for a matchup with the duo of Matzenauer and Murray from Northwestern.
Paloma Escobedo and Julie Blackmore defeated the Illinois team 8-4 before being ousted by the twosome of Ghazai and Robison of Northwestern. A similar fate awaited Hubbs and partner Ally Mueller, who after winning their opening round matchup against an Illinois-Chicago tandem were narrowly edged in a tiebreaker by the Iowa team by a score of 9-8 (4).
