Women’s Track and Field Completes Action at Indiana Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s track and field team competed at the Indiana Classic in Bloomington, Ind., Saturday. The Buckeyes were led in the non-scoring event by sophomores Ayrizanna Favours and Veronica Jatsek, who claimed first-place honors in the 400-meter dash and weight throw, respectively.
Favours clocked an NCAA indoor championships provisional qualifying time of 54.13 to take the 400m title. She also joined teammates Ashley Caldwell, Chandra Krempel and Jenna Harris in taking the 4x400m relay in a season-best 3:44.98. Individually, Harris claimed third in the 60m (7.56) and fourth in the 200m (24.55), while Caldwell took second in the 600m in 1:33.77.
Jatsek was Ohio State’s top performer in the field for Ohio State, winning the weight throw at a distance of 65 feet (19.81m). In the jumps, Jessica Stringer finished third in the high jump (5-6 1/4/ 1.68m) and Veronica Vance was third in the triple jump (39-0 1/2/11.90m).
The Buckeyes return to Indiana next week for the Gladstein Invitational Friday and Saturday.
