The Buckeyes ended the meet with a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The quad of Chan, Buelens, Rennebohm and Stasia von Rahl (So., Mishawka, Ind./St. Joseph’s) swam the relay in 1:37.05.
“We swam pretty well,” Jeanne Fleck, head swimming coach, said. “We just didn’t have the fire-power we needed. We had some great, solid swims, but we needed more people to step out of the box like Colleen did. We still have a lot of work to do heading into the next weekend with meets against Penn State and Kenyon, but I don’t think deflates our season. We are off to the best start we have ever had, so this is fun for us. We are moving in the right direction.”
The Buckeyes travel to State College, Pa. to take on Big Ten foe Penn State, Friday at 4 p.m., before returning home to swim the Kenyon Lords, Jan. 21 at noon, at the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion in their last meet before the Big Ten championships.
