Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Play at Cissie Leary Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three members of the Ohio State women’s tennis team wrapped up play at the Cissie Leary Invitational hosted by Penn in Philadelphia Sunday.
In consolation action, both Sonia Ruzimovsky (Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooklyn Technical) and Caitlin O’Keefe (Troy, Mich./Troy) were 2-1 combined Saturday and Sunday. Ruzimovsky downed Minnesota’s Mikayla Rogers in straight sets before coming back to win in a super tiebreaker over Harvard’s Laura Peterzan. Ruzimovsky was defeated by Temple’s Kurashima in her final match of the tournament.
O’Keefe beat Princeton’s Sarah Huah in a super tiebreaker and Columbia’s Sydney Murray in straight sets before falling to Penn State’s Laura Holzberg.
Sophomore Angela DiPastina (Titusville, N.J./Hun School of Princeton) won her consolation/double jeopardy match, defeating Minnesota’s Lindsay Risebrough, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-5).
In doubles, the tandem of O’Keefe and Ruzimovsky lost in the quarterfinals to Schnitter and Litvak of Harvard, 8-4.
Up next, the Buckeyes will travel to East Lansing, Mich., for the ITA Midwest Regional Oct. 19-24.
