Women’s Tennis Ends Day Two at Deacon Classic – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Five members of the Ohio State women’s tennis team wrapped up the second day of play at the Deacon Classic, hosted by Wake Forest, in Winston-Salem, N.C. The tournament ends Sunday.
The doubles tandem of Julie Voss (San Angelo, Texas/St. Stephen’s Academy) and Kristin Messmer (Lutherville, Md./McDonogh) beat Volobueva and Moskaliova of East Tennessee, 8-6, to advance to the final match in Flight C Sunday.
Freshman Ally Mueller (Roswell, Ga./New Braunfels (Texas) was 2-0 in consolation singles to lead the way, downing UNC Charlotte’s Koren Fleming (7-6, 6-2) and Tara Byrne of East Tennessee in three sets (4-6, 7-5, 6-2).
