Women’s Tennis Opens Season at Princeton Invitational – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s tennis team opened its fall season at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J., Friday. Because of inclement weather, only doubles matches were played.
The tournament is a hidden dual format, with no team scoring kept.
Ohio State opened the day by winning two of three matches against Rutgers. The squad was 3-1 vs. Buffalo and 2-1 against Princeton. In its final competition of the day, OSU was 4-0 against Yale/Princeton.
Leading the way for the Buckeyes with a 4-0 individual mark was freshman Christina Keesey (Northfield, Minn./Northfield) in her first action for the Scarlet and Gray. Sophomore Julie Voss (San Angelo, Texas/St. Stephen’s Academy) also was undefeated on the day with a 3-0 ledger. Three other Buckeyes – freshman Ally Mueller (Roswell, Ga./New Braunfels (Texas) and sophomores Julie Blackmore (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) and Angela DiPastina (Titusville, N.J./Hun School of Princeton), each posted 3-1 marks. In all, the Buckeyes had 13 different doubles pairings throughout the day.
Action continues Saturday with singles matches only. Ohio State is scheduled to face Rutgers at 9 a.m. and Yale at noon. Sunday, the Buckeyes will meet Buffalo at 9 a.m. and the host Tigers at 11:30.
