Former Buckeyes Run at 2006 USA Track and Field Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Ohio State All-Americans competed Sunday at the 2006 United States Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis. Distance runner Rob Myers took sixth place in the men’s 1,500-meter run, while recent OSU grad Brian Olinger placed ninth in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Myers finished the 1,500m in 3:40.90 for sixth place. A Buckeye from 2001-04, Myers was fourth in 2005 in the USATF 1,500m and third at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials. Olinger, who turned in the eighth-best time in the prelims at 8:35.56, clocked an 8:36.43 to take ninth in the final Sunday. The native of Fresno, Ohio finished fifth in the NCAA steeplechase final earlier this month.
Former Buckeye hurdler Joel Brown, an All-American from 2001-04, reached the semifinal round of the 110-meter hurdles with a qualifying mark Saturday. He did not start in the semis Sunday.
