Anne Wilkinson Named Dita/NFHCA West Region Coach of the Year – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State field hockey head coach Anne Wilkinson was named Dita/NFHCA West Region Coach of the Year, the National Field Hockey Association announced Wednesday. This is the first regional coach of the year honor for Wilkinson at Ohio State and second such honor of her career.
In her 11th season at the helm of the Buckeyes, Wilkinson guided the team to a 15-4 overall record, the third-best season in school history, and a Top 7 national ranking throughout the year. Ohio State was 5-1 in Big Ten games to win its first outright regular-season conference crown in program history. Wilkinson guided the team to another first when the Buckeyes defeated Cal in the NCAA tournament, advancing to the second round for the first time in four appearances. She also was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year.
This season, Wilkinson coached three NFHCA All-Americans, four First Team All-West Region honorees, the Big Ten Player of the Year (Saskia Mueller) and Offensive Player of the Year (Yesenia Luces) as well as five All-Big Ten award-winners, nine Big Ten players of the week and five Academic All-Big Ten selections.
Overall at Ohio State, Wilkinson is 136-82 and has a career mark of 215-165-8 in 20 years as a head coach.
