Ohio State Finishes Day Three at NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Meet – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s track and field teams ended the third day at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships Friday at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, Calif.
Aaron Fisher, a junior distance runner, was the only Buckeye to compete in a final event Friday in the men’s 3,000-meter steeplechase, taking 10th overall. Seniors Rosalind Goodwin and Shayla Moore participated in the women’s triple jump qualifying rounds later Friday.
Fisher, who clocked a personal-best 8:35.18 in the prelims Wednesday, took 10th in the steeple final to earn his second All-America honor in a time of 8:37.80. Fisher finished fourth in the steeple at the 2004 NCAA meet.
For the women, the senior tandem of Rosalind Goodwin and Shayla Moore competed in the women’s triple jump qualifying rounds. Goodwin moved on to the final set for Saturday at 9:30 p.m. (EDT) with a qualifying leap of 43 feet, 8 inches, the top mark in the preliminary rounds and the third No. 1 measure in two days for OSU jumpers at the NCAA Meet. Moore, a senior and 2005 Big Ten triple jump champion, placed just outside of the qualifying mark at 42-8.
The final day of competition at the 2005 NCAA outdoor meet is set to begin at 2 p.m. (EDT) with the women’s heptathlon long jump.
