Ohio State Falls at Missouri, 5-2 – Ohio State Buckeyes

Columbus, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s tennis team suffered a 5-2 loss to Missouri Saturday at Columbia, Mo. The Buckeyes fell to 4-7 (0-0 Big Ten), while Missouri improved to 9-2 and extended its home winning streak to seven matches. Emily DeCamilla (Sr., Sacramento, Calif./Maryland) won at both doubles and singles for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State dropped the doubles point to open the match, despite an 8-5 win at the No. 2 position by DeCamilla and Meredith Vincent (Sr., Cincinnati, Ohio/Va. Tech) over Missouri’s Erika Josbena and Yelena Olshanskaya. The Tigers took the point with victories by Katka Sevcikova and Carolyn Kramer over Lindsey Adams (Sr., Mercer Island, Wash./Mercer Island) and Caitlin O’Keefe (Fr., Troy, Mich./Troy) at the No. 1 position and by Hana Kraftova and Charlotte Bellis over Sonia Ruzimovsky (Brooklyn, N.Y./Brooklyn Tech) and Kristin Messmer (Soph., Lutherville, Md./McDonogh) at No. 2.
In singles, DeCamilla added to her winning on the day with a victory in her singles match at the No. 2 spot, 6-2, 6-1, over Kraftova. Ruzimovsky increased her team-leading season singles win total to 18 by downing Josbena at the No. 4 position, 6-2, 6-4.
The Tigers were victorious in the match, however, by taking singles matches at the Nos. 1, 3, 5 and 6 positions. No. 63-ranked Sevcikova beat Adams, 6-1, 6-3, at 1, Olshankaya topped Vincent, 6-4, 6-4, at 3, Lubica Nadassaka defeated Kristin Messmer (Soph., Lutherville, Md./McDonogh), 6-2, 6-4, at 5, and Kramer downed Lindsay Bryan (Sr., New Orleans, La./Ursuline Academy), 7-5, 6-2, at 6.
The Buckeyes return to action at 9 a.m. Sunday when they face the University of Louisville in Columbia, then travel to St. Louis, Mo., to take on St. Louis University at 6 p.m.
