Track and Field Concludes Day Three Competition in Florida – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s track and field teams concluded day three competition at the Florida Relays Friday evening in Gainesville, Fla. The Buckeyes also featured distance runners John Ealy (Reynoldsburg, Ohio/Reynoldsburg) and Dan Glaz (Palos Hills, Ill./A.A. Stagg) in the Stanford University Invitational in Stanford, Calif.
Ealy and Glaz competed in the 5,000 and 10,000-meter runs respectively at the 31st annual event. Ealy finished second in section three of the 5,000 and clocked a time of 14:12.18. Glaz competed in section one of the 10,000 and recorded a career-best mark in the event notching a 29:14.29 which smashed his previous career mark of 29:23.48.
Highlighting day three action at the Florida Relays was senior Rosalind Goodwin (Louisville, Ky./Ballard) as she leaped 19 feet, 7 1/2 inches (19-7 1/2) in the long jump to place sixth.
Additionally for Ohio State, the men’s 1,600-meter sprint medley team consisting of Joe Gourley (Uniontown, Ohio/Green), Tony Cole (Columbia, Md./Oakland Hills), Gerald Griffin (College Park, Ga./Westlake) and Todd Dutch (Turnerville, N.J./Washington Twp./St. Augustine) finished ninth posting a time of 3:28.25. In the men’s discus, Patrick Whalen (West Dundee, Ill./Algonquin Jacobs) finished 11th with a toss of 150-3.
Final day competition of the Florida Relays concludes Saturday.
