Track and Field Opens Competition at NCAA Championships – Ohio State Buckeyes

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Members of the Ohio State Track and field team, who qualified for the 2005 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships competed in day one competition Friday evening in Fayetteville, Ark. The two-day event is being held at the University of Arkansas at its Randal Tyson Track Center.
Highlighting day-one action for the Buckeyes was senior Brian Olinger (Fresno, Ohio/Ridgewood) as he earned All-America honors in the 5,000-meter run, clocking a time of 13:58.18. Olinger’s All-America honor was his first accolade as a Buckeye.
Also competing for Ohio State was fellow senior Bryan Duby (Silver Lake, Ohio/Archbishop Alter) as he tossed a mark of 64 feet, 7 inches (64-7) to place 12th in the weight throw.
Ohio State seniors Rosalind Goodwin (Louisville, Ky./Ballard) and Shayla Moore, (Jessup, Md./Long Beach) will compete at 4:10 p.m. CST Saturday in the triple jump, while Shelaine Larson (Ventura, Calif./Buena) will participate at 2 p.m. CST in the weight throw.
