Ohio State’s Nicole Maglich Named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week – Ohio State Buckeyes

Ohio State women’s swimmer Nicole Maglich was named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week for the week of Dec. 5 after recording three NCAA “B” qualifying times at the Ohio State Swimming and Diving Invitational Dec. 2-4 at the Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Maglich, a senior captain from Sarasota, Fla., (Sarasota), recorded her first NCAA “B” qualifying time of the weekend in the 500-yard freestyle. She placed third in the event, reaching the wall in a time of 4:46.32. The second NCAA “B” cut time came in the 200-yard freestyle event. Maglich’s time of 1:48.42 not only earned her the qualifying time, but also was the crowning time in the event.
Her final NCAA “B” qualifying time came on the last day of the meet. A time of 16:42.08 in the 1,650-yard freestyle event placed her in fourth within the field of competitors. Maglich competed in every relay event throughout the three-day meet.
The swimming and diving team will return to action following the holiday break in a dual meet against Marshall at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion at 6 p.m. Jan. 13.
